This has been rather... ignored. Honestly, I haven't been working on writing as much as I would like, but have recently gotten back into the "groove," so to speak.

I'd also been intending to post older writing up here, so that things would stay mostly in chronological order. I'm hoping to start doing that tonight. I decided that I will NOT be posting each chapter of "In the Arms of My Enemy."

This was a YuYuHakusho fic that I wrote a rather long while ago. It was ongoing, and eventually hit over 100 pages, which was a major accomplishment for me. While I enjoyed writing it, looking at it now, I don't really like the story itself. It's poorly characterized, and poorly paced. If anyone is interested in reading it, it and some other older things I won't be posting here can be found at my fanfiction.net account here. 

The pieces of writing I still enjoy will still be placed here, however. So... I'll try to get those up in the next couple days. Tonight I'm also going to try to finish messing with the tags here to make them a bit more useful.

Written for the current contest over at crossoveroff . The challenge was to write a crossover of Tin Man and anything else of my choice. I chose Alice in Wonderland. The whole thing is too long for one post, so I'll post it chapter by chapter.

Author's/Explanatory Notes:
About two-thirds of this was written in the last two days. I hope it's okay despite that, but I'm not the best at judging at the moment. Also: I despise writing action scenes, and this fic called for an obscene number of them towards the end, which I wish I'd thought of before I planned them out.
There are some kind of vague references made to the Wizard of Oz canon outside of just Tin Man, though it's nothing huge. But the character of "Princess Langwidere of Ev" is from the Oz stories, and I just appropriated her for my own use.
And kudos to anyone that recognizes the random quotes I used throughout. Mostly there are just lines from movies, songs, or books that I liked and wanted to fit in. It's not important that you recognize them, but I had fun putting them in.

Yeah, I'm posting again. Don't die of shock just yet though; I'm not doing anything productive.

Okay, so. I've been posting my old writing up here, which is well and good and stuff. But really, I don't like any of it. I don't hate most of it, but I really don't like it.

I guess reading badfic and betaing for some very talented people has really made it obvious how very much my older stuff fails at characterization. I wouldn't really say my stuff is true badfic (though maybe that's a delusion) but I manage to let characters fall into some of the worst fanon cliches ever. YYH fics, I'm looking at you. Seriously, despite the fact I know it's OOC, I still made Kurama (even as Youko) into a weepy uke stereotype. I gave myself some excuses for it, but it'd have been better if I'd just put forth the effort for it to work IN character.

Basically, I really want to rewrite In the Arms of My Enemy. I feel kind of bad, because it's the only ongoing thing I "finished" and it's by far the most popular thing I've written. But the story has no real cohesiveness, as I didn't know where I was going when I started posting. There's more filler than is necessary, and rampant OOCness. Despite it all, I still like what I did with the plot (which was also no shining piece of originality.) So I do actually have the desire to rewrite it. However, I am already working on that epically long KH fic, which I do want to finish. And I really want to write Tin Man fic, before a) everyone leaves the fandom or b) my ideas get screwed over by a prequel/sequel.

Also, because there are people that liked In the Arms of My Enemy, I don't want to take it down. I know it's sort of selfish, but I LIKE the almost-popularity I got for that fic. But also, there have been fics I adored, that the authors then removed, and I hate that. Plus, while basic plot would be the same, I think that I'll probably end up changing it enough that the rewrite would be almost a different story.

And part of my issue with the original fic is that the title stopped having anything to do with the story a few chapters in. Suddenly they weren't enemies anymore, and the title ceased being relevant. So, new title suggestions? Sticking with the "enemy" theme would be good. I still have a prequel and a sequel idea that both have "enemy" in their titles. So... any thoughts? Amanda, I'll lookin' at you, since you're the only one that reads this journal and read the fic. XD Or I could appropriate the title of the third part for this one. It fits for both. (Enemy of My Enemy.) In the third part it's supposed to refer to Hiei and Kuronue sharing a common enemy (Karasu) and therefor being friends. But it would sort of work for Hiei and Youko in this one.

And again I wonder if maybe all of the rewriting I want to do (on this and I'll Meet You With a Smile) is maybe another form of procrastination as far as writing goes... just giving myself an excuse to do something besides figure out where my KH fic is going and find a plot for the Tin Man one.

So yeah, teal deer, I added more to my list of "In Progress" even though it was supposed to be done. I suck. Oops.

This is another older one. I really liked it when I wrote it, but can't say I'm quite so fond of it now. ^^; I still don't think it's bad, but it's also not particularly original. And it uses the "sweet snow" cliche of H/K fics, though I really have no idea where that came from. I think my favorite part now is how I portrayed Keiko. Anyway, it's very flawed, but still, posting all my old stuff, so here's Playground.

The fic was originally inspired by just hanging out at a playground with my friends one day, years ago.

So I just found out that fanfiction is still eligible for NaNoWriMo. Imagine my glee. >=D

I've been lazier than I should have been this last long while, and there are a few reasons, but none of them are good.

I have a Kingdom Hearts plot bunny that has been gnawing at me for a little while, and I've held off on writing it so I could use it for NaNoWriMo. Buahahaha. We'll see how far I get, but with any luck (or non-procrastination from me) there will be writing from me in the next month. Though the sheer amount of writing I'll have to force myself to do on this one, other things will probably be NOT updated for now. A brief hiatus.

I need to still work on cowrites, but they too may have to wait until November is over.

Anyway, figured I should share, since this is supposed to be my writing journal. ^^;;

So, I worked on writing today! It's amazing, I know. Really, I've worked on some stuff here and there, but nothing has really gotten acomplished by it.

Um... so I got the first chapter of the long-in-progress fic Humanity done. It's the YYH fic I have about Hiei and Kurama being sentenced to time in America. Not as uber-cliche as that sounds, I promise. It's been in progress for over a year. Sadly.
I may post that here sometime soonish, though I promise that enough that it doesn't mean much. XD I am a bit hesitent about posting it just because I have no idea when/if there will be another chapter. Meh.

I also got a new plot bunny! #161. (I have too many...) This one is for Deltora Quest! Yay, Deltora Quest! I just finished all the books. Basic premise is that the Shadowlord uses the last of his power to move to another world, one that would be easier to conquer, since it has no knowledge of magic. So... he comes to Earth, also in the hopes that once he raises power there, he can use its weapons to help conquer Deltora once more. Sounds a bit like Fables, and a bit like Conqueror of Shamballa. Anyway, I still need to create characters for it, since it'd be mainly NOT about Lief, Jasmine, and Barda. I may want to make the characters sort of parallel, but I don't know. But it's an idea. I don't know if I'll ever do anything with it though. It could be cool though, especially if I find a way to make actual fairy-tales and myths fit in, like the Deltoran ones do. So yes. I ramble.

But yes, I do still work on things, even if I don't produce much for my efforts...

OH! But I have completed one other thing. Chapter one of I'll Meet You With a Smile, cowritten with Amanda. It's posted on my ff.net account, but I want to get through my older stuff before I post new stuff here.

Enemy's Keep: YuYuHakusho; Youko is captured and held captive by Karasu. He is subjected to many kinds of torment, and only wishes for death. Hiei knows what is going on and is consumed with guilt, because he was the one who put Youko in that position. Contains physical, mental, emotional, sexual abuse. Prequel to In the Arms of My Enemy. Pairings: non-con Karasu/Youko, slight Hiei/Youko, mentioned Kuronue/Youko

Enemy of My Enemy: YuYuHakusho; Youko and Hiei seek Karasu in order to stop him from recovering his power. But he is stalking them as well, and they accept the help of Youko's old partner Kuronue. Cloud goes to Riku. Sora and Kairi end up going through a mirror back to HB. Riku and Sora get together. But Kyouya and Haruhi are honest with each other, and with Tamaki. Pairings: Kyouya/Tamaki/Haruhi in all possible combinations (yes, a threesome.)

The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars: Kingdom Hearts; co-write with Amanda( cloud_sakuma ) and Layn. Cloud is torn between two lovers... Chapter 1 finished, more to come. Pairings: Sephiroth/Cloud, Leon/Cloud, possible Sephiroth/Cloud/Leon threesome.

I'll Meet You With a Smile: Kingdom Hearts; AU co-written with cloud_sakuma. The college kids go back to see their high school friends over summer break. Lots of yaoi and yuri, some het. Tifa wants to know why her girlfriend needs anti-depressants; Roxas wonders how he will cope when both his boyfriends are in college; Kairi wishes she didn't have to lie in order to see Yuffie; Olette wants her boyfriend to be okay with his family splitting up; Cloud wants Sephiroth and Leon to stop fighting over him... Pairings: Tifa/Aerith, Sephiroth/Cloud/Leon, Yuffie/Kairi, Axel/Roxas/Demyx, Cid/Vincent, Pence/Olette, Paine/Rikku, plus others.

All of this stuff is in progress to at least some extent, but none is quite post-worthy yet. I promise to keep working!

A three-way co-write between Amanda(cloud_sakuma), Layn, and myself. It's a Kingdom hearts fic called The Sun, The Moon, and The Stars, which is about Cloud (written by Amanda) being torn between two lovers; Sephiroth (written by Layn) and Leon (written by me.) It may stay as a triangle, or if we can convince Layn (and by extension Sephiroth) it will be a threesome. Heh heh, sorry if that squicks anybody out... Amanda finished the first chapter, so I'll post that here soon! Warning to all who are used to my writing; she does not have the same inability as I do keeping her from writing lemons. So... yes. Lemony freshness does occur. ^_~
Amanda and I also have our own co-write, which is another Kingdom Hearts fic titled I'll Meet You With a Smile, centering around many different pairings and issues. Lotsa yaoi and yuri, but with a scattering of het as well. It's an AU with most of the characters in college or high school. We're most of the way through chapter one, and I'll post that as soon as it is finished.

I'm currently working on too many things, but they include both Enemy's Keep and Enemy of My Enemy which are a prequel and sequel, respectively, to In the Arms of My Enemy. Both are proving problematic for different reasons. The first is difficult because of the abusive dynamic, which is just hard for me to write. The second is hard because I'm having to figure out how to write both Hiei and Kuronue into a relationship with Youko, and that's just hard right now.

I've got more, including three original fairy tales. They all have some dynamic of an existing fairy tale, but aren't just retellings.
One is a story about a princess in a dragon guarded tower, and her attempts to win back her kingdom and thwart the men who only want to marry her for her title.
Another is about Rose Red, a prince who is victim of the same witch-queen as Snow White. He must leave his kingdom with two companions; his cousin, who has been turned into a cat, and a sorceress they've rescued. He finds another prince who is known only as Heartless, for his heart was stolen and replaced with a clockwork one which is winding down. Yaoi content.
The third is about a princess who exiled herself to an island. There she almost dies of loneliness, but meets and befriends a mermaid. Yuri content.

So yeah. Just here to prove the journal hasn't died. ^^;
